Marjorie L. Michel

Marjorie Light Michel, 84, of Churchton, died on October 20, 2016. Marjorie was born at home in Takoma Park on March 2, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Beatrice and Robert Light.

She was a secretary for several government agencies, retiring from the Public Defender's Office in Prince George's County, Maryland. Her interests were hand-made crafts including greeting cards and artificial flower arrangements. She also enjoyed collecting lighthouses.

In 1952, she married the late Robert E. Michel, Jr. Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Michel, III of Surfside Beach, SC and James S. Michel of Churchton, MD; two daughters, Linda Michel Brennan of Davidsonville, MD and Debra Lee Hanna of Mechanicsville, MD; three sisters, Christine Geanaros of Silver Spring, MD, Roberta Light of Takoma Park, MD and Claudia McManamey of Woodbridge, VA; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 noon Wednesday, October 26 at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Rd., Galesville, MD 20765 followed by a funeral service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 2112
