Mrs. Barbara L. Miller

Born on September 18, 1936, in Brooksville, Kentucky, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Edward Sutherland and Dorothy Wells, and stepdaughter of Raymond Swift. She attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Barbara married the love of her life of 52 years, Joseph “Snuffy” Miller, on June 14, 1964, aboard the Calypso Liner in Miami Beach. She enjoyed a vibrant career as an entertainer, singer, and dancer, sharing her talent and joy with audiences since childhood and for many years before dedicating herself fully to motherhood. Barbara was also actively involved in the PTA, always committed to supporting her children and community.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her father Edward, her stepfather Raymond Swift, her mother Dorothy, and her son Victor.

Barbara is survived by her loving sons Robert and Michael, and their spouses Iliana and Vida. As well as her “bonus son” Christopher Sutton. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren—Araly Kelly, Alexa, Nicholas and Jacqueline Rose Miller, Michael Sandoval, and Alec Sandoval—and great grandchildren Maurice, Mykel, Mason, and Maddex Kelly; Lucia Simpson; Aria; David Allan, Evelyn Katherine Sandoval, her brother, David Sutherland and former daughter-in- law, Abby. Her legacy lives on in each of them.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, Florida. Arrangements are entrusted to Fred Hunter Funeral Home.

The family of Barbara wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Cousin Judy, Dana Nasui of Silver Heights Residency ALF, and the Vitas Medical Staff at Broward Health Coral Springs for their compassion, care, and support.
