Chunkie Maytrebell Brown

Chunkie was born in St. Thomas, Jamaica W.I. to Abraham and Pearline Graham on May 31, 1944. She attended Lystra Primary School in St. Thomas, Warren Hall High School and Jamaica Commercial Institute in Kingston. Chunkie married Derrick Brown on July 18, 1984 in Jamaica.

She had a diverse portfolio of skills which included Stenography and Accounting. In her later professional years she became a home health aide who displayed kindness and empathy towards her patients.

Chunkie is predeceased by siblings Ashebell, Cynthia, and Phyllis.

She is survived by Husband Derrick, Son Ryan and daughter- in- law Jody with granddaughters Skye and Sage. Step-sons and daughter-in-laws, Dale and Dana, Neil and Norma, Everton and Stephanie, Sean and Jameishah with grandchildren Tyler, Zane, Blessyn, Sean Jr, and Camille. Her siblings Kurnel, Minnett, Neville, Clement, Owen, Nadine, Pauline, Andrea, Herbert, and Easton.

The viewing will take place on Friday April 25, 2025 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home

2401 S University Drive, Davie, Florida 33324 from 4 - 8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 26, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Plantation 150 46th Avenue, Plantation, Florida 33317 starting at 11AM. Arrangements are by Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home.
