

David C. Johnson, Sr., of Miami Gardens, Florida, passed swiftly away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his home. He was 85 years old.
David Johnson, Sr., was born in Cullman, Alabama to Andrew Leonard Johnson and Lois Watson Johnson on March 29, 1940. The family moved to South Florida when David was just 3 years old. He attended South Broward High School and graduated in the Class of 1959. He soon enrolled at Dodge City College in Kansas where he played scholarship football and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 1962. He then served in the United States Army while he was stationed in the Seattle, Washington area. After completing his service to his country, he returned to South Florida and was married in 1967 in Miami, Florida, to Lina Sotolongo of Camaguey, Cuba. He worked for many years in the interior design and construction industries. He became an expert in wall textures and drywall finishing. He and his younger brother, Randy Johnson, formed Johnson Brothers Drywall and worked for many years together. David retired in 1995 at the age of 55 and became a part-time landlord in the Miami Gardens area. He was a relentless pursuer of truth. He called upon Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He ended well.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Lois, his father, Andrew, his brother, Randy, his wife, Lina, his daughters, Maria and Sonia, and his infant grandson, Aleksander.
David is survived by his sisters, Andrea and Valerie, his son, David Jr., his grandson, Brannon, and his four granddaughters, Liberty, Selah, Jubilee, and Avalina.
An intimate gathering of his loved ones will soon take place at Whiskey Creek, Dania Beach, Florida, to remember his life and to bid a final farewell.
