Elaine J Prete

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to so many, Elaine J. Prete, died peacefully July 9th at the age of 100. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, she later joined her parents in Florida in 1961 with her husband, Charles, and her two young children. There she was the elegant “woman next to the man” to Charles who held the position Vice President of International for Van Dusen Aircraft until he retired in 1985. She also loved to paint, entertain and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her and will be most remembered for her love and appreciation of life, her elegance, warmth and her generous spirit. She is survived by her three children, Richard Prete and his spouse Cary, Lisa Pretecrum and Suzanne Prete; and, six grandchildren, Jennifer, Spencer, Lia, Jesse, Ethan and Jeremy; and her great grandchild, Nico.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 17th 11:00 – 1:00 at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home; 2401 S. University Drive.
