George was born in Bridgeport Connecticut to Nicholas Zartolas and Rita Jean Baughan. After high school he became a machinist at Remington Arms in Bridgeport. He met his wife Ada DeHombre there in 1955 and they were married on July 28, 1956. They were married 65 years.
In 1958 they move to Hollywood Florida where they started a family, and he began building homes in west Hollywood with his father. He became a General Contractor and Real Estate Broker.
In 1970 George became VP at Hollywood Federal and head of the Appraisal Dept where he continued his education by becoming an MAI, SRA the most prestigious designations in professional appraising.
In 1980 George started his own appraisal business Real Property Appraisal with his wife Ada. He became the president of the Association of Real Estate Appraisers. George and Ada traveled all over the country representing his profession.
George was on the Advisory Board for Regents Bank in Davie and served on the Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Davie.
George and Ada were members of the Hollywood Jaycees and The Harlequins social club. There they made lifelong friends and traveled the world together.
George was a lifelong avid golfer. George and Ada played together for 30 years. He played golf until he was 90.
George loved the outdoors and adventure his other hobbies were fishing, hunting and watching sports.
George was preceded in death by his brother John, brother Andrew and his sister Sylvia Bagdady.
George is survived by his daughter Deborah Bergin and Robert (husband), Daughter Jaqueline East and Joe (husband), Grandchildren Daniel Bergin and
Vanessa (Wife) Michelle Gudaitis and Ryan (husband) Joleen Nelson and Bill(husband) Jessica Arrango and Roland (husband)
Great grandchildren Brooke Bergin, Brianna Bergin, Brittany Bergin, Lukas Gudaitis, Lily Gudaitis, Valerie Nelson, Connor Nelson, Sophia Arrango.
The Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at 10am -12 pm services followed by a reception 12:30 -2:30 on Monday September 28 at Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Davie.
The family of George Zartolas would like to thank his friend and caregiver Paul Barker and his wife Karen for many years of devotion to our dad.
