

Helen was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Nora Bence on January 5, 1927. She was raised in Pittsburgh during the Great Depression and helped care for her three brothers whom she loved dearly. She went on to raise four successful children. Helen also lived in Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and for the past thirteen years in Fort Lauderdale.
Helen was a strong and resilient woman throughout her entire life and worked hard to make those around her happy. She was known for her energetic love of life. In her later years she loved to travel and became quite an artist.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, John (Jack), James and Charles (Bobby) Bence and two of her children Craig Campbell and Kathy March. Helen was widowed to Allan R. Sellars and Col. Edward R. Cleary.
Helen is survived by her daughter Judy Sarver and son Scott Campbell, her grandchildren, Carrie, John, Jacqui, Ian, Benjamin and Zachery, and two great grandchildren. She had a very special bond with her granddaughter Carrie Sarver as they used to share their most precious secrets together. Her grandson John Sarver helped care for her during the last years we had the privilege of being with her. Helen will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all those who loved her.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on September 20, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home located at 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, Florida 33324. Helen’s final resting place will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, Women in Distress or Wounded Warriors.
