Born on January 10, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Steven Sokolowski and Jennie Niemiec, Jeanne spent the first 33 years of her life in Chicago, where she attended Lindbloom High School. On June 11, 1960, she married Lawrence “Larry” Parzygnat, beginning a marriage that would last 64 years.
A devoted wife and mother, Jeanne dedicated herself to raising her three sons while working as a hairdresser and pursuing certification in court stenography. In 1973, she and Larry moved to Florida, where Jeanne began a 25-year career as an executive secretary at Motorola.
Following retirement, the couple settled in Lake Placid, Florida, with hopes of enjoying a quieter life. Instead, Jeanne thrived in her community. She became actively involved in the Highlands County Tea Party, the Lions Club, the Mural Society of Lake Placid, and served as a board member of the Lake August Homeowners Association. She also found great joy singing with the Sweet Adelines Choir. Her civic engagement brought her opportunities to meet many political figures, including Glenn Beck, Charlie Kirk, Senator Rick Scott, Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Ron DeSantis, and President Donald J. Trump—moments she took great pride in.
After Larry’s passing, Jeanne moved to Boynton Beach to begin a new chapter. Though the transition was difficult, she embraced it with courage and optimism. She built new friendships, became active in the American Legion—where she loved to dance—and looked forward each week to Saturday night karaoke.
Jeanne will be remembered for her radiant smile, vibrant personality, love of plants, and her gift for turning every story told into something memorable. She cherished her family above all else and created lasting friendships everywhere she went.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence; her parents, Steven and Jennie; her brother, Steven; and her sister, Marie. She is survived by her sons Jeffrey, Lawrence, and Kenneth; their spouses Veronica and Tidtikarn; her sister Dorothy; and her treasured grandchildren Kristin, Lawrence III (“Lukie”), Destiny, and Summer, Marlon, and Brandon.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 2401 S. University Drive, Davie, Florida.
