Norma Pirrotti, beloved aunt, devoted sister, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born to Settimo and Marana Pirrotti of Messina, Italy. She was the youngest of three sisters and was raised in the Catholic faith, attending Catholic school throughout her early education and high school years.
At the age of 16, Norma and her family immigrated to Brooklyn, New York, and she eventually made New York City her home. Norma loved the city. She found its energy exciting and often felt that living there made her feel alive. She began her career at Mutual of New York before moving on to French American Bank in New York City. She later had the special opportunity to work at the New York headquarters of Rai Italia TV, one of the places she most enjoyed working. Her Italian heritage held a special place in her heart, and being surrounded by Italian culture made this chapter of her career particularly meaningful to her.
While Norma loved her career and her life in New York, her greatest joy always came from her family. It was ultimately her love for them that brought her to Florida after retirement, allowing her to be closer to those she loved most. She was always there—celebrating their accomplishments, sharing in their lives, offering guidance, and providing support. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave will remain with them always.
Her faith in God and her devotion to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church helped guide her throughout her life. She was the godmother of her niece, Elizabeth, and also served as sponsor to her great-nephew, Matteo, at his Confirmation. Norma was deeply committed to supporting them in their Catholic faith, leading not only through words but through her own example.
Norma was predeceased by her parents, Settimo and Marana Pirrotti; her sister, Gloria Prudente; her brother-in-law, Giacomo Ioppolo; and her niece, Annemarie Ioppolo.
Norma is survived by her sister, Gioconda Ioppolo; her nieces, Elizabeth Todd and Margaret Jaccoma; her nephew, James Ioppolo; and their children. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Pasquale Prudente. She leaves behind extended family in Italy and many cherished friends who will miss her dearly, especially Frank Golletti, who held Norma very close to his heart.
