

Ronald Asquith Brown died on September 17, 2025, from natural causes at the age of 90. He was born in Kingston, Jamaica on November 21, 1934, where he was raised until he moved to The Bronx, New York in his teens. He served in the United States Air Force starting in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1959. He married Sonia Vila on October 10, 1975. They had a rewarding life together, revolving around 6 children, Evelyn, Yvette, Janet, Monique, Michael, and Derick; fourteen grandchildren, Jason, Ronald, Ruthy, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jeffrey, Justine Marie, Matthew, Thomas, Mark, Lauren, Mikayla, Quintin, and Jace; and twelve great grandchildren. Throughout his life he loved spending time with his family, eating good food, watching the NBA, and periodically sipping on a cold rum punch. He enjoyed travel, and his adventures took him to London, Paris, Costa Rica, Mexico and to several islands in the Caribbean. He was known for his loyalty to both family and friends alike, as well as for his kindness, integrity, and strong work ethic. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21st at Fred Hunter’s Funeral Home in Davie, FL from 1 to 5 PM. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Bonaventure’s R.C. Church in Davie. Entombment to follow at Fred Hunter’s Memorial Garden in Hollywood, FL. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Coviva, Dr. Kevin Perry, Dr. Luna, Dr. Princey, St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, and the nurses who cared for him.
