Ronald Joseph Castro

Ron was born in Brooklyn, New York to Vincent and Anita Castro on November 23, 1951. He went to school in West Babylon, New York. He joined the Army after high school and then graduated from Adelphi University. He worked as an RN for 47 years, starting as an ER nurse and finishing as a home health nurse in wound care. He married Susan Castro on October 25, 1997, in Pompano Beach, FL.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Anita Castro and his brother, Alan Castro. He is survived by his wife, Susan Castro, his daughters, Allison Castro, Meghan Castro, and Elise Friedson (husband Jeffrey Bradley), his son, Mike Castro (wife Michelle Castro) and grandchildren, Alex, Ian, Payton, Layla, Alayna, and Luca.

The viewing will be held at Fred Hunter Funeral Home, 2401 S University Drive, Davie, FL 33324 on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, with a memorial service at 3:00 pm following the Wednesday viewing.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held after the service the evening of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the family’s home.
