

Sydney Ciana Shaw was born on January 11, 2004 at Memorial West Hospital in Pembroke Pines, Florida. From an early age, Sydney's life was guided by faith. She was baptized and received communion at Miramar United Methodist Church, where her love for God was nurtured and remained an important part of who she was.
Sydney was a compassionate and kind-hearted soul who saw the good in everyone she met. Sydney valued deep, meaningful relationships and cherished her close friendships and family bonds. She was always present for the moments that mattered most family holidays, graduations, weddings showing up with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Sydney graduated from Charles W. Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, Florida. She understood the importance of hard work perseverance. While attending Broward College, Sydney worked part-time and dedicated herself fully to her studies earning her associate's degree. She continued to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, studying tirelessly as a reflection of her genuine desire to care for others and make a difference in the lives of those around her.
Sydney had a love for adventure and travel. In her short but meaningful life, she visited five countries and ten states. She especially treasured her summer trips to Jamaica, where
she connected with extended family and embraced new experiences jumping off cliffs at Blue Hole, swimming with dolphins, and creating memories filled with joy and excitement.
She loved thrilling rides and roller coasters and was never easily scared. Even on her very first day of school, her mother was tearful, Sydney was courageous as she said, "BYE MOM". Sydney was ready to approach life with bravery and an eagerness for new adventures.
She loved to dance, often lighting up the dance floor with her friends and family. She delighted in simple joys sour snacks, designer clothes and bags, driving her car, and watching Tyler Perry movies and FRIENDS repeatedly.
Sydney lived life with a fearless heart, an infectious smile, and a radiant spirit that drew people to her wherever she went. She poured into the people around her, spreading love and making everyone feel valued. She never ended a conversation without saying "I love you." Sydney leaves behind a legacy of love and light. She is survived by her devoted mother and stepfather- Sandrene and Johann Chong, father-Curtis Shaw, four-legged fur baby Bella,
siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A visitation will be held at Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, located at 2401 S University Drive, Davie, FL 33324, on January 23, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled at Miramar United Methodist Church, 2507 Utopia Dr, Miramar, FL 33023, on January 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
Interment will follow at Fred Hunter's Hollywood Memorial Gardens West on Taft St, Hollywood, FL 33024, on January 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
