

Berberich, Al, age 82, of Dayton passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at the Hospice of Miami County. He was born December 23, 1935 to Alois and Dorothy (Finfrock) Berberich, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Berberich and his sister, Rosemarie Pelfrey. Al is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marlene (Buechele) Berberich; his three children, Steve (Linda) Berberich, Sue (Pat) Stouder, Mike (Jenny) Berberich; his sister, Mary (Phil) Jackson; eight grandchildren, Adam (Melissa) Berberich, Kate and Erin Berberich, Elizabeth Stouder, Nick, McKayla, Ben and Luke Berberich; three great grandchildren, Emma, Aubrey and Elliott Berberich. He was a longtime and active member of St. Helen Parish, past president and active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society since 1980 and a veteran of the United States Army. Al was an amazingly kind and generous man, who was always doing for others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2018, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road with Father Satish Joseph, celebrant. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass on Friday. Final resting place will be in Willowview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Al be made to the St. Helen St. Vincent DePaul Society.
