
LAWSON, Alice Marie, 91, passed away April 16, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on April 10, 1924 in Bloomington, Indiana to Raymond and Mina Brummett. She was a loving wife to Maurice Olin Lawson for fifty years until his death in 1992. They resided in Oakwood, Ohio where they raised their eight children. Alice met and married Richard Bagnell in 1994. They were loving companions until his death in San Antonio in 2012. In 2013 Alice married John Van Wicklen in Boerne, Texas. Sadly, John passed away shortly after they were married. Alice was a very active member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization and the Banana River Power Squadron. She was also a proud member of the Lambda Chi Omega sorority in Dayton, Ohio. She was cherished by her very large family, and all her friends and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her strong faith, love of life, great wisdom and her undeniable strength. She was proceeded in death by her beloved eldest son, Robert Maurice Lawson. Alice is survived by her children John Lawson, Marilyn Lawson Rashid (Ed), Conya Lawson Scherer (Tom), Brent Lawson, Linda Lawson Henry, Teresa Lawson Asbury (Bryan), and Sherri Lawson Besselman. She is also survived by Betsy Lawson (Robert), as well as, 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, step children; Sharonlee Bagnell Wood, Robert Bagnell (Judy), Matthew Van Wicklen (Kaye) and Steven Van Wicklen (Jeanette) and her “adopted sons”, Andres Loosberg (Canada) and Hiroshi Yokata (Japan). A service to celebrate Alice’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd, Dayton, OH. Interment will follow at David’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
