Alvin Bellert, 83, departed this world on February 21, and we have no doubt he was met at Heaven’s gate by his first wife Mary Bellert (Leugers), his sisters: Frieda Beaver and Wilma Wynk, and his parents Joe and Matilda Bellert (Depwig).
He is survived by his second wife Alice Weitz, his brother Richard Bellert, his five sons and spouses: Doug (Brenda), Darrin (Rhonda), Duane (Dawn), Dale (Wendy) and Darrell (Marcy), his daughter and spouse: Ann Pulaski (Dennis), 16 grandchildren: Michael, Crystal, Katelynn, Danielle, Allison, Samuel, Jeremy, Marisa, Evan, Jessica, Jaynie, Emma, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Derek, and Orion, 5 great grandchildren: Aden, Lythium, Logan, Jaden and Brandon, and step children: Joe, Nick, Andy, and Sam Weitz and Teresa Haworth.
Alvin left his mark on this world with his humor. Always quick with a joke or one liner, he left rooms happier than he found them. He worked hard and fulfilled his dream of becoming a renowned furniture repairman and refinisher, working the job he loved until his retirement. He had a fondness for the dances held ‘up north’, nature, and talking with people. He loved to have his family gathered together for backyard cookouts. Alvin also had a very generous heart. He sponsored over twelve children all over the world through the Christian based organization, Unbound. These sponsorships allowed children to attend school, enjoy holidays and help their families. By example, he taught the importance of embracing and being comfortable with yourself, the value of hard work, to tackle problems head on, and to do it all with humor and grace. This devoted husband, father and grandfather will be missed.
