Alyce J. Neel

Neel, Alyce J., age 89, passed away Friday November 8, 2013. Alyce was born in Tippecanoe, Ohio the middle child of William and Susie Spear. She was a lifetime Methodist and a longtime member of Church of the Redeemer in Columbus, OH. She was an avid gardener, loved sports, especially following her Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoyed playing cards. In addition to her parents she was preceded by two husbands, John Thomas Murphy and Francis Raymond Neel, a daughter-in-law, Karen Murphy, son-in-law, John M. Stang, grand daughter, Ann Marie Murphy, brother, Robert Spear, and a sister, Grace Mallernee. She is survived by a son, John Murphy; a daughter, Janice Stang; grandchildren, Heather J. Murphy-Zahora, Alyson Palmer, and John W. Stang; and five great grandchildren, several sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. Graveside services will follow the visitation at David’s Cemetery.
