
Ann Boatright Athey, age 76, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away at home on July 16, 2026. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 21, 1949, to the late Cecil Garland and Charlotte Hummel Boatright. Alongside her parents she is preceded in death by her Brother; Reed Boatright.
Ann is survived by her loving Husband; Steven A. Athey, Children; Karen (Jeff) Heinrich, Matt (Tammy) Pendergast, Grandchildren; Emma (Dave Halula) Merchant, Taylor (Reggie) Romine, Austin Pendergast, Great Grandchildren “Her Babies”; Marley and Hayden Halula.
Ann was from Montgomery, Ohio, graduating from Sycamore High School. She raised her family in Beavercreek and decided to remain there all her life. She enjoyed spending time in Wisconsin and Florida for her vacations. Ann also enjoyed quilting and has made many, many beautiful quilts.
Alongside Ann’s love for quilting, she enjoyed spending time with family and was always instrumental in getting everyone together. She was a devoted Grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. That devotion showed up for all of her close, wonderful, friends as well.
Ann passed away after battling cancer for nine years but showed all of us the strength and endurance she had, which was an inspiration to us all.
The family will be holding private services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude or Hospice of Dayton.
