Miss Ann was a wonderful dance instructor. I remember her as being so graceful and elegant. Always with her hair pulled up. Always standing tall. One could tell that she was a ballerina.  

I once made a mistake in her class and felt embarrassed. The other children in the class laughed at me, but Miss Ann put her arm around my shoulder and stood up for me and that made them stop. I’ll always be grateful to her for that. She felt like a friend.  

She was good with children in that way, also letting us pick out stickers from a box after class . She would occasionally put on a Michael Jackson record  and play something current (for the time) in the last few minutes before our parents showed up to collect us. (I always thought that was a fun way to unwind after so many repetitions of ballet forms and the accompanying classical music. ) 

She was a lovely lady and I still think of her fondly so many years later.

Michelle, I'm so sorry to hear about you mom.  I was one of her students from the time I was 7 until I graduated from high school. I was one of her dancetts. She was such a  great teacher and a great influence in my life.  I remember her dancing before you were born and after you were born.  I thought you would come out dancing when you were born.  I'm sure she is teaching the rest of the angels in heaven now.  We spent so many years together that we became dear friends. The world has lost one of it's greatest dancers.

Michelle, I just got the news of your moms passing, I would have been there. Miss Ann was like a second mother to me and my sister Cynthia.  I will always remember the fun we had shopping together (as I told the sales girls that I had a celebrity with me, they would always look so excited and Miss Ann would just blush) and taking her to a special dance performance at Stivers School for the Arts and the special dinners we had at different restaurants around the city.  My mom always said "stay with Miss Ann" when it comes to getting and staying in shape.  She is among the stars and will ALWAYS be missed, teachers Pet,

Michelle, I knew your mom since I was a kid and I miss her very much.  I regret that I just found out about her passing.  I would have attended her services.  Heaven is a better place because she is there.

Michelle, I just received a message from our daughter in Arizona that Ann had passed away.  We have not lived in Dayton for fifteen years and therefore do not get the news from there very often. Our deepest sympathy for your loss.  She was so special to all of us and her memory lives on in special ways.  I am grateful for all that she taught me not only at the dance studio, but in many other areas of my life including the fact that she let me help prepare fancy foods (at a very young age) for her parties.  I feel my love of entertaining, comes from comes from her influence. Her sense of style and elegance was so unique, but most of all, she will be fondly remembered for her kindness and good nature. Sending our love and prayers to you in your sorrow. Our consolation is knowing one day we will see her in Heaven. I'm sure she is saving seats for all of us!

Michelle, I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget the many happy times I had with Miss Ann. I started dancing with her at age 3 and loved teaching withe her for at least 20 years many happy reviews. I am sure she is dancing in heaven at this very moment. She will be missed. Love, Dottie

Michelle, my condolences for your loss.  Your mom was a dear lady. She had a style all her own and I always think of her when I see the color purple.  She was a huge influence on my teen years and it was a pleasure to keep in touch after those days.  She was a joy to be with and I have so many fond memories dancing with her. Miss Ann was my dance teacher in the 60's and made all of us feel special. She was a beautiful kind lady and we thought we were the best dance group around! Rest in peace and dance with the angels Miss Ann.

Miss Ann was my very first dance teacher around 1960 and then again in the late 60's and early 70's.  My love for dance which started with her has been passed down to my daughter and now to my granddaughter.  She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever known and I always loved her purple dance attire.  My memories of Miss Ann and the other wonderful teachers and of being a "Dancette" with Michelle and many other  wonderful girls, will always be a very special time in my life.

Miss Ann was like a second mom to me.  She taught me to love dance and to love myself.  She taught me from 1950 until 1962.  When we reconnected years later she taught my granddaughter Kaycee for a year.  Kaycee and I loved to visit with Miss Ann!  We will miss her sweet smile!  Our deepest sympathy to you, Michelle.
