Born on February 28, 1939, in Bangor, Maine, Ann was the daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Whiting) Small. She grew up in Maine alongside her beloved brothers, William Small and Charles Small.
Ann graduated from Brewer High School in 1957 and went on to work as a medical secretary.
She met the love of her life, Victor Mesenzeff, while he was stationed in Bangor. The two were married on New Year’s Day, 1959, and shared 66 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in love and devotion.
She is survived by her husband, Victor; her children, Victor Mesenzeff Jr. and his wife Sandie, Tanya (Mesenzeff) George and her husband Jerry, and Valentina (Mesenzeff) Yarnell and her husband Mike; her grandchildren, Andrea Banschenbach, Lauren George, Colleen George, and Jacob Yarnell; and her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Rachel Banschenbach.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was known for her remarkable cooking, her love of gardening, and her appreciation for nature—especially the birds she enjoyed watching from her garden.
Per the family’s request, there will be no formal service. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton for the kindness, comfort, and dignity they provided Ann in her final days.
