Braddom, Audy Lee, 89, died peacefully on Friday, June 15 at The Oaks of West Kettering Nursing Home in Kettering, Ohio. He was born on July 5, 1922 in Cookeville, TN, moved to Harlan County, KY as a young boy where he graduated from Hall High School, and finally moved to Dayton, OH in the early 1950’s. Audy served in the U. S. Army Anti-Aircraft for 3 years throughout Europe in WW II. He attended Caney Creek College in KY and Sinclair College in Dayton, OH. In the mid 1950’s he began his Journeyman training in tool and die work. Working in several companies, he retired from NDT Industries after nearly 40 years as their jig bore operator. Audy was very active at North Dayton Baptist Church for at least 50 years teaching classes, serving as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent, and spending much time ministering to the elderly, shut-ins and people in hospitals. After retirement, he also enjoyed travelling and fishing. Audy was the last member of his family and is preceded in death by his parents James George Washington Braddom and Ida Lou Farley Braddom, brothers, David, Edward and James Braddom and sisters Dimple Spurlock, Virgie Douglas and Margrett Braddom. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth Williams Braddom, his three sons, Dr. Randall (Diana) Braddom, Stanley (Donna) Braddom, and Mark (Beth) Braddom; three grandchildren, Eric (Sylvia) Braddom, Steve (Jen) Braddom, Karen (JB) Morris, Amy Asbury, Jerry (Kayla) Braddom, Jamey (Bridget), Matthew Braddom and Ryan Braddom. His is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and by two sisters-in-law, Ruby Linville and Georgann (Ron) Beardsley. The family will receive friends and family from 12 noon to 2 pm, Thursday, July 21, 2012 at North Dayton Baptist Church, 515 Lilian Avenue, Dayton. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm.
