Betty Lou graduated from Ball State University 1950. She was inducted into Phi Lambda Theta, 2-19-1955. She received a Masters in Education from there in 1959 , while cooking large dinners for the extra farm hands, cleaning it up when she got home from school, making the evening supper , etc. and raising a small son and daughter. Betty taught elementary school for more than 30 years in Indiana and Bellbrook, Ohio. In 1982, she also used her considerable talents teaching 1st- 2nd-3rd grade Bible class students until 2007. Many colleagues and students said that she was a very good teacher.
When Covid 19 hit, the elderly at her nursing home were given the vaccinations first. She said that was right for them to try the vaccine first, because they had already lived their lives. They could try them first, in case there were bad reactions, it wouldn’t harm the younger people.
Many people enjoyed Betty’s love and friendship for many years. She will be missed.
