Steven Nelson, 78, of Beavercreek passed away on October 19, 2026. He was born in Balkan, Ky, to John and Viola (Steele) Nelson, and was raised in Middletown, Ohio. He worked for Computer Sciences Corporation as an Implementation Coordinator, developing logistics systems for the Air Force. While employed at Computer Sciences Corporation, he received his MBA from McGregor School of Business at Antioch.
Steve was a devoted Christian, attending Centerville Community Church for 35 years. His favorite bible verse was John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” He loved music, especially jazz; one of his favorite things to do was to simply relax and listen to jazz music. He also loved to discuss all things scientific and engineering based. His passion for cars was rewarded when he was able to purchase a beautiful black 1985 Porsche Carrera 911. He was a member of the Porsche Club of America, and a founder of the successful Red Brick Reunion, a yearly Porsche car show in Oxford Ohio that raises money for the American Cancer Society.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Gayle, his son Brian (Wendy) Nelson, his stepson Ryan (Kendal) Cooke, and various cousins and their children and grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Centerville Community Church on November 6 at 10:00 am, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
