Carlene Himes

Carlene Himes, age 86, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Saturday, Jan. 14th, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Henrietta Osterfeld; husband of 46 years, William “Bill” Himes Sr.; sister, Margie Bader; brothers: Luke, Jim, Joe and Alfred Osterfeld; daughter-in-law, Candy Himes and son-in-law, J.J. McClay. She is survived by her sons: Steven Himes and William (Susan) Himes Jr.; daughters: Virginia Himes, Mary McClay, Patricia (Tony) Stevens and Julie (Lew) Hensley; grandchildren: William (Lynn) Himes III, Joseph (Sarah) Himes, Matthew (Trisha) Himes, Emily Zientara and Josh and Anthony Stevens; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Jacob, Jackson, Jessica and Brody Himes and Troy Zientara ; sisters-in-law: Darlene and Barbara Osterfeld and Joy Himes; grandson-in-law, Jason Zientara; special friends: Jean Patty, Jonathan Betts and Stephen Columbus and numerous nieces, nephews and other great family friends. Carlene loved bowling as well as ceramics. She was active in the Democratic Party as well as The St. Ann Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19th, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 310 Allen St, Dayton, OH 45410 with burial immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Friends may call between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, 2017 at Tobias Funeral Home- Belmont Chapel, Dayton, OH.
