

Carol S. Kane, 69, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born on December 18, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Beatrice and Wheeler Crabtree. Carol was fiercely loyal, adventurous, bold, graceful, and strong. She was known for her vibrant personality and zest for life.
Carol attended Norwood High School and later pursued higher education at Xavier University and Sinclair Community College. She had a diverse career, working as a journalist, medical billing and transcription specialist, and even as an independent business owner. Carol's dedication and hard work were evident in every endeavor she pursued.
Aside from her professional achievements, Carol had a deep love for her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard P Kane, and their children Richard D Kane, Joel Kane, and Benjamin Kane. She cherished her role as a wife and mother, and her family meant the world to her. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Wheeler and Beatrice Crabtree, as well as her siblings Corkey Crabtree and Juanita Crabtree.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She had a talent for quilting, cross-stitching, and genealogy, her creations were cherished by those who received them. Carol also had a green thumb and found solace in gardening and flower arrangement. She was an avid scrapbooker, capturing precious memories for future generations. Additionally, Carol had a passion for baking and delighted in sharing her delicious treats with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching football and cheering on her favorite teams The Ohio State University and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Carol found solace and community at Drexel Church of the Nazarene, where she worshipped. Her faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her vibrant spirit, unwavering loyalty, and zest for life will forever by remembered and cherished. May she rest in peace.
Family to receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Beavercreek Chapel; where service will be held 10:00AM Friday, August 25, 2023. Burial will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens.
