She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to her beloved parents, John and Helen Belley. A graduate of Chaney High School in 1960, she went on to work at Ohio Edison as an administrative assistant, before moving to Detroit and Toledo, and finally Dayton, which became her adopted hometown. She met Randy Talbott and married him on November 21, 1984. She continued her work at Van Dyne-Crotty, Southview Hospital and Culverin, while embarking on a lifetime of adventure together with her dear husband. They bought a sailboat and loved weekends at Acton Lake and Rocky Fork Lake, surrounded by other sailing friends, basking in an active social scene where they were early members of the Rocky Fork Sailing Club, helping in its development. She enjoyed joyful years of skiing, scuba diving, and sailing with friends, even joining her husband as his First Mate on many sailing trips throughout the American and Caribbean waters. When home, she was an avid and accomplished, admired gardener. Following retirement, she treasured her days volunteering as a gardener at Cox Arboretum, and immersed herself in her interest of Civil War history. Her most personal, precious days were spent in her gazebo, pampering her sweet dog Sailor and admiring her gorgeous garden. Later in life, wishing to share in the sports fandom of her children and grandchildren, she took a course at the University of Dayton and became a full-fledged football expert and Cincinnati Bengals fanatic."
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 38 years, J. Randy Talbott, children Jennifer (Peter) Kavouras, James (Sandy) Calvert, Julie (Jeff) Grawe and Terri (RJ) Giannone, brother Richard Belley, 5 grandchildren: Chelsie, Jordan, Bryan, Monica, and Marlina, and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 10-12pm, with the Funeral Service to begin at 12pm, all at Tobias Funeral Home, Far Hills Chapel.
