

Koester, Catherine C. “Kay”, age 85, of Centerville and formerly of Riverside passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her family. She was born in Dayton, OH on December 29, 1929, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Wahler) Corbett, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters-in-law, Marilyn Cogan and Dorothy Koester. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond; 2 sons, David (Mary Jane) Koester, Anthony Koester; 2 daughters, Virginia Zahora, Angela (Joe) Plumlee; grandsons, Kevin (Stephanie) Zahora, Drew Plumlee; granddaughters, Kristy (Michael) Worden, Amy Zahora; great grandsons, Grady and Grant Zahora, Landin Worden; great granddaughter, Ella Worden; her sister, Evelyn Corbett; brother, James (Patty) Corbett; brother-in-law, John Cogan and numerous nieces and nephews. Kay was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and was a graduate and valedictorian of the 1st class of St. Joseph Commercial High School in 1947. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed life to its fullest and spending time with her family and friends. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. from St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road with Father David Brinkmoeller, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Staff of Hospice of Dayton and Homeinstead Home Care for the loving care and support given to both Kay and the family.
