Cathy Philpot passed away on September 8th, 2024 in Miamisburg, Ohio. Cathy graduated from Dixie High School in New Lebanon, Ohio before attending Wright State University. Cathy was preceded in death by her partner John, sister Diana, and mother Juanita. She is survived by her sisters Debi, Donna, and Pam; daughter Ericka; son-in-law Chris; and granddaughter Luna. Cathy also leaves behind many friends she loved as dearly as siblings: PerDitta, Robynn, Michelle, and plenty more.
Cathy was wildly smart, obscenely funny, and quick to love with her whole heart. She was fiercely protective and always the life of the party. She loved to devour horror novels (especially Stephen King), listen to rock music (KISS and Nine Inch Nails were favorites), go to concerts, and watch true crime shows. She loved animals of all sorts, but especially adored cats and owned several throughout her life. She loved being a gramma to her little biscuit, Luna. Cathy lived every one of her nine lives to the fullest, and she will be furiously missed.
As black as the night can get, everything is safer now
There's always a way to forget once you learn to find a way how
In the blur of serenity where did everything get lost?
The flowers of naivety buried in a layer of frost
The smell of sunshine, I remember sometimes
Thought he had it all before they called his bluff
Found out that his skin just wasn't thick enough
Wanted to go back to how it was before
Thought he lost everything then he lost a whole lot more
A fool's devotion swallowed up in empty space
The tears of regret frozen to the side of his face
The smell of sunshine, I remember sometimes
I've done all I can do, could I please come with you?
Sweet smell of sunshine, I remember sometimes
