Cathy Marie Sharp, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at Ohio Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on July 15, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Jack and Janice Click.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Douglas Sharp. They celebrated their milestone anniversary on June 15, just days before her passing. She was a proud and devoted mother to her three children: Melody (Jody), Christopher (fiancée Natasha), and Marco (Katie). Her legacy continues through her four cherished granddaughters—Corrine, Addison, Emily, and Elizabeth—who brought her endless joy.
Cathy was a remarkable woman: strong, vibrant, and unapologetically honest. She had an unmatched ability to speak her mind and a heart that overflowed with compassion. Always ahead of the curve, she graduated a year early from Northridge High School and later earned her degree in radiologic technology from Sinclair Community College. She went on to serve veterans with great dedication as an x-ray technician at the Dayton VA Medical Center.
Beyond her professional life, Cathy was a lifelong rescuer and nurturer, opening her heart and home to countless animals in need—cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, ducks, goats, and fish. She never hesitated to step in and care for pets belonging to friends and family during times of crisis, ensuring they were safe and loved.
One of Cathy’s greatest dreams came true when she and Doug built a custom home on a wooded lot in Lewisburg, Ohio. There, she found peace surrounded by nature and her beloved pygmy goats, who happily took on the role of lawn care. It was the perfect setting for someone who lived in harmony with the world around her.
Cathy’s spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many animals whose lives she touched. Her kindness, strength, and humor will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Friends and family will be notified once plans are finalized. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cathy’s memory to the Preble County Animal Shelter, honoring her lifelong devotion to animal rescue.
At 65 years young, Cathy gained her wings. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her father and lovingly greeted by every animal she ever saved, waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge—watching over us all, forever.
