

MADER, Charles W. (CHARLIE) age 74, of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 following a short illness. Charlie, the oldest of 9 children, was born May 2, 1941 to Anthony and Betty (Uhlenhake) Mader. Charlie was ordained a priest on June 27, 1968 and served in Hawaii. He had retired from M & R Electric Motor Repair, Inc. after many years of service. Charlie was a very giving man who had a great love for his family. He was a wonderful son, brother & uncle. He very much enjoyed his gardening, was a fabulous cook, loved playing cards & always looked forward to going on his many fishing trips. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his 4 brothers: Thomas (Linda) Mader, Larry (Cheryl) Mader, Ronald (Sharon) Mader, Anthony Jr. (Tina) Mader: 4 sisters: Nancy (Bill) Rauch, Patricia Edmondson, Ann (Frank) Detmer, Terry (Gary) Scheper. Also surviving are 23 nieces & nephews, many great-nieces & nephews, numerous cousins and many friends. A special thanks to Chris Perdue for his friendship, help & assistance with Charlie the past several years. Charlie’s family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. There will be a prayer service Thursday morning, May 21, at 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at ST. ANTHONY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 830 Bowen Street, Dayton, Ohio with Fr. Greg Konerman celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
