SMILEY, Charles Willard “Chick Smiley”, age 76 of Dayton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord after a short and courageous battle with cancer. His family cherishes the memories of his faithful love for all, which was rooted in Christ’s faithful love for him. He loved to share the Word of God and rarely neglected the opportunity to witness for his Savior wherever he went. He is survived by his wife; Wanda Remell Smiley at St. Catherine’s Care Center, beloved father of two daughters and one son, Tammy L. Czyzewski and her husband Bill of Centerville, Ohio; Teresa A. Smith and her husband, Rodney of Brick, New Jersey; Todd C. Smiley and his wife Christine of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was a Loving Grandfather to Andrew Smith, Tyler Smiley, Zachary Smith, Jonathan Czyzewski, Trey Smiley, Carter Smith, Jessica Czyzewski and Tommy Smiley. He leaves behind many close relatives, friends and neighbors. He is noted for never missing or not recognizing a birthday, anniversary, graduation or special event in any of our lives. During his life he was employed with National Cash Register (NCR) and General Motors. While employed he was credited for numerous process improvements for both organizations with one such being the vision for the Cash Tendered Key found on today’s cash registers. He was a past member of Dayton Baptist Temple and during his life time he was involved in many church programs and ministries with his volunteering roles including Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Children’s Ministries, Bus Ministries, Summer Camp Ministries. He enjoyed being with his family and traveling to each of his children’s homes to be a part of his children and grandchildren’s lives. He will be noted for his love of life and was often found singing songs, quoting scriptures and encouraging each of them. His positive attitude, sense of humor and friendliness are most remembered by those that had the opportunity to meet him. He was an avid sports fan, whether he was attending or watching many different sporting events whether as a season ticket holder or attending the many sports his children and grandchildren participated in from little league to micro soccer to supporting them in their University games as they grew. The family will host a visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road, Kettering, Ohio 45429.
