Charlotte Joanne Bastian

Charlotte J. Bastian, age 89, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born in Rochester, New York, Charlotte dedicated her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. A proud graduate of the Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing, she worked in various hospitals throughout New York and Connecticut before spending 21 years serving residents at Bethany Lutheran Village, where her compassion and kindness touched countless lives.

Charlotte is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Donald; and their loving children, Jeffery Bastian (Martha), Gregory Bastian (Janet), and Cathleen Anderson (Grant). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jay Bastian (Kristin), Seth Anderson (Analicia), Elizabeth Stafford (Tyler), Erika Anderson, Emily Szydlik (Jacob), Alexander Bastian, and Joanna Bastian. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Ximena, Elias, and Julian Anderson-Galindo; Rylie and Chloe Bastian; Isabelle Szydlik; and Virginia and Sadie Stafford.

Charlotte is also survived by her sisters, Deborah Calleri (August) and Jennifer Putnam (Bill Dalton), and was preceded in death by her sister Rebecca Tibbetts (Michael).

Known for her warmth, strength, and dedication, Charlotte leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories cherished by all who knew her. A private family service will be held in her honor.
