Chloe was born on August 6, 1927 in the town of Cachoira located in Rio Grande Do Sul, Brazil, to Luiza (Dreher) and Ferdinand S. Schwalm. Chloe worked in Rio de Janeiro for Pan American Airways providing Customer Service ground and translation support in 1944 where she met the young American Pan American pilot, Edward E. Wood. On December 14, 1944, Chloe was married to Edward E. Wood for over forty nine years. They raised five sons, Walter, Wendell, Barry, Bryan (deceased), Edward, Jr. and one daughter, Cynthia.
Chloe had a wonderful life comprised of being a housewife, raising six children, and traveling around the world twice. She had a passion for sports including NFL football and an avid Michael Jordan fan. Chloe enjoyed her family and supported all of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout the years. At the age of 68, she brought her two teenage grand-nephews from Brazil to live with her and to give them a much better life in America.
