HOBBS, Clyde W. (C.W.), age 83 passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Kettering Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1935 in Lee County, Virginia to Alma and Ray Hobbs who preceded him in death.
Clyde married the love of his life at an early age and they remained together for 63 years. Throughout their years together they chose one another first. Where one was you would find the other. They were a team, partners, and best friends. He was a strong, loving man who taught his family by example in the value of hard work, kindness, and acceptance of all people. His family was always his top priority and there was not a day that he did not let each of them know how loved and valuable they were. He provided a safe secure home for his children and instilled a love of nature and wholesome fun by taking them on frequent camping trips. He had an incredible love of life and even through illness he continued to look forward to the future. Though his body became weak his spirit remained strong. His great sense of humor, infectious laugh, and his kindness will be missed for a lifetime by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves his family behind with sadness but also joy, gratefulness, and an honor to have shared their lives with him. He is survived by his wife and best friend Maggie Hobbs, his children Karen (Ed) Dillon, Keith (Monique) Hobbs, Angela (David) Bundy. His grandchildren Bradley (Amanda) Hobbs, Jackie Hobbs, Cassandra Dillon, Marissa Bundy, Amberly Bundy, Brianna Bundy, Alex Dillon and Larry Kennon. Great grandchildren Jaylynn Cantrell, Marlee Engel, Barron Jacob Sulek Jr., Piper Johnson, and sister Anna Ruth Balskey. Nephews Dwight Balskey, Mark (Gina) Balskey, and niece Michelle (Larry) Kautz , sister in law Janice Beach and friend Peggy Neely.
Clyde's family would like to offer a special thanks to Barron Sulek, Matthew Whittaker, and Chase Dempsey and the many other family and friends who visited and offered support while he was hospitalized. Your selflessness and kindness will always be remembered.
We would also like to thank his nurses Brooke, J.D., Becca, and Erin in the MSICU for the wonderful care they gave.
