

Joseph, George Curtis (Curt), passed away on Sunday, August 21 at 5:40 p.m. following a lengthy illness due to a neurological disorder PSP. He had been in the care of The Hospice of Dayton since March. Curt was born on July 15, 1941 to George & Margaret (DePriest) Joseph in Fairborn, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Bunny, sons Garry (Sarah) and Richard, sister Carol (Bob) Hoy and uncle Roy H. (Marilyn) DePriest, grandchildren Tony, Kayla, Shauna & Shane, great grandson Preston Reed and extended family Mike & Julie Rowe. Curt is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins with whom he was very close to. Curt graduated from Beavercreek High School class of 1959. He became a wood patternmaker apprentice right out of high school and worked in the trade for over 42 years. In 1991 he was President of the Pattern Makers League of North America when they merged with the International order of Machinist. Curt loved working on automobiles from the time he was in high school, he was in the process of rebuilding a 1936 Plymouth when he became ill. He was a member of the National Street Rod Association & thru them met many very good friends. Curt loved all sports especially football & NASCAR. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to Dr. A. Patrick Jonas for his exemplary and compassionate care of Curt these past four years; to Gwendolyn, Summer & Brad of The Hospice of Dayton and all the people on the Crisis Team who cared for Curt during his final days. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, August 26, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Interment in Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 5pm until 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, donations may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
