Daniel Joseph Collins has been called home to heaven to be with his parents Gerald and Anne Collins. He lost his brave battle with Alzheimer’s and a brain blood clot August 20, 2024 while resting peacefully at his home in Springboro, Ohio.
Danny had a full and fun life. He spent the last 28 years with his older brother Gerald Collins and his wife Cherrie (Zindorf). He is also survived in death by his brother Kevin Collins and his wife Carmen (Rivera) of Dublin, Ohio. His sister Maureen Maeda and her husband Riki of Lansdale, PA and his sister Patricia Shimizu and her husband Jeff of San Diego, CA.
Danny was a loving brother, proud uncle of 12 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews. He really enjoyed being with family and friends as well as meeting new people. He loved hugs and being a friend to everyone he met.
Danny was a graduate of Jupiter High School in 1990.
Danny had many interests including golfing, playing and coaching basketball, hiking, working out at the YMCA and all things sports related. He enjoyed watching Dukes of Hazard and listening and dancing to most genres of music. He was known to thoroughly enjoy his beer and desserts.
Danny also enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Wright B Flyer Museum.
His parents would be very proud to see the man he became. He touched many people’s lives.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church Parish, 9579 Yankee Road, Springboro, Ohio 45066. Danny will be interred at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney, PA with his parents.
