Daniel Lee McLain passed away on June 6, 2026 at the age of 71 with his wife and children by his side. He was born on April 18, 1955 to the late Richard and Wanda (Shemwell) McLain. He graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1973. He worked at Delco Products for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael McLain.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Luneke), son Nicholas (Amanda) McLain and daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Williams and two beautiful grandchildren, Brooks and Bailey Williams; his siblings Gail (Mark) Hopkins and Ginny (Tim) Lindsey, brother Scott (Angie) McLain; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bob and Norma Jean Luneke; sisters-in-law, Susan (Steve) Drummond and Janice (Tony) Downing, numerous extended family members and MANY very loving friends!
Dan loved family gatherings, going to lunch or dinner with friends, listening to local bands, mowing the grass on his farm, sitting in the sun, vacations to Daytona Beach, going to car shows and occasionally enjoyed a Coors Light. He had a gift for designing and building almost anything you could imagine. He had a passion for working in his shop on his hot rods. He often said that he would lose sleep because he was always building his next project in his head. Those projects kept him motivated.
Our family is eternally grateful to everyone for the love, prayers and support during Dan's courageous battle with cancer, including the amazing doctors and nurses at The James. We love and appreciate all of you!
The family will receive visitors at Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:30 p.m.
