David Paul Deger, age 83, of Dayton, OH, died Tuesday, April 6, at Maple Knoll Village Pavilion in Springdale, OH. David was born January 11, 1938 in Dayton to the late Robert A. and Mary Agnes (Wolf) Deger. David grew up in Dayton, having graduated from Chaminade High School in 1957. He worked as a plumber and was a member of United Association of Journeyman and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United State local 162 for six decades.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, David was also a longtime member of the Dayton Motorcycle Club for 50 years. David was also a toy train enthusiast and amassed an impressive collection over his lifetime. He was a member of the Train Collector’s Association. After retiring, David was an active volunteer for Habitat for Humanity for Greater Dayton. He was known as a kind and helpful member of his community and frequently pitched in to help neighbors
David was preceded in death by a brother, Robert J. He is survived by a sister, Sister Dorothy Deger SNDdeN of Cincinnati, a brother, WTCM Joseph Deger USNR, and his wife, Sandra, of Newport News, VA, multiple nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 10, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 149 Franklin Street, Dayton followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers to Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Retirement Fund, 701 E.
