Dennis John Jakubs, age 73, of Kettering, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023. He was born on June 22, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Stanley J. and Evelyn (Bacha) Jakubs who preceded him in death. Also preceding Dennis in death is a brother, Stanley C. Jakubs.
Dennis is survived by his children, DeAnna Joy (Howard) Laudermilk and Dennis John (Megan) Jakubs Jr.; grandchildren, Hayden Ellis Laudermilk, Dylan Howard Laudermilk, and Jakub Dallas Laudermilk; a brother, Dave M. (Patti) Jakubs; a sister, Jacqueline Mikes and former wife Sharon K. (Jakubs) Homer.
Dennis devoted 20 years of service as a mechanic in the Navy, working on airplanes and helicopters. Once retired from the Navy, he enjoyed 20 years as a United States Postal worker. He loved his family and time with his grandsons out on the farm. He cheered on his favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, hardly ever missing a game on TV. In his later years, he enjoyed watching birds at the bird feeders outside of his windows and sharing stories of his time in the Navy.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Tobias Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45432. A funeral service will occur Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 11:30 AM, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45432. A burial will occur Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428.
