Dennis Kersey Phillips

PHILLIPS, Dennis Kersey, age 70 of Beavercreek, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth (Kersey) Phillips, father Donald E. Phillips, and stepmother Hester B. (Blair) Phillips.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife Susan (Steinbicker) Phillips, children Melissa (Mike) Penney, Jennifer (Chad) Myers, DJ (Lauren Burdock) Phillips, Lisa (Jon) McGarry; grandchildren Kaitlin (Jeremy) White, Ashley (Keith) Shock, Madison (Alex) Jackson, Will Myers, Peyton (Dell Stalls) Penney, Emma McGarry, and Liam McGarry; great-grandchildren Ariel White and Clifton Jackson; sisters Donna (Jerry) Wolf, Carol (Ron) Marshall, Donna (Lloyd) Back; brother David Blair, and life-long friends Lois and Jeff Gorrell.

Dennis graduated from Beavercreek High School Class of 1974. He started working at Phillips Sand & Gravel/Phillips Companies in 1972. Dennis had served as the company's Secretary/Treasurer, President, and Chairman of the Board.

Dennis was active in the community. He served as Past President of the Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA), Past President of the Xenia Chamber of Commerce, and Past President of the Xenia Economic Growth Corporation. He also served on the Beavercreek Board of Zoning Appeals and the Xenia Ground Water Protection Committee. He was also a former member of the Beavercreek Lions Club and the Knights of Pythias.

The family will receive friends from 5:00–8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel. A visitation  will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 10:30–11:30 am, followed by a service for close family and friends at 11:30 am.
