Derek Myers passed away on 30 April 2025 from complications resulting from a long-term illness. Derek was born in Memmingen, Germany. As a youth, and “Air Force Brat” his fathers military assignments took him to Nevada, Virgina, back to Germany in the late 80’s and finally Ohio in the early 90’s. While in Germany, during both tours spanning 7 years, Derek traveled to numerous European countries, which inspired his traveling bug spirit later in life. He is a Graduate of Beavercreek High School (Ohio), and from there earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Sinclair Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from The Ohio State University. After Graduating from OSU, Derek initially worked as a Defense Contractor supporting the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance System Program Office at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and later as a Department of The Air Force Security Specialist with the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). Derek enjoyed the outdoors, to include hiking, camping, fishing, marksmanship, and had an immense interest in Astrology. Derek is survived by his parents, LtCol Danny & Rosalie Myers, brother Justin (Martie) Myers, sister Collette Myers, his two children Logan & Aubrey Myers and nieces/nephews, Marcel, Akira, Sean, Ashley and Allyssa. Derek will be laid to rest along side his grandmother at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Lockbourne Ohio at a later date.
