Dixie is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Kenneth Strahler; her son, Patrick Ryan Strahler, and daughter-in-law, Shellie Strahler; her daughter, Kendolyn Wheeler, and son-in-law, Marvin Wheeler; her grandchildren, Wilbur Oliver Wheeler, Kyrstyn Alexandra Strahler, and Kassandra Lea Strahler; and her great-grandchildren, Keaghan Patrick Strahler, Bradyn Anthony Strahler, and Brynleigh Cedar Sams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Barbara Lou Shade.
Dixie’s greatest joy was her family. Kenneth was the love of her life, and she found happiness in the time they spent together and in the family they lovingly nurtured. She also loved her dogs as family, enjoyed music and dancing, and had a passion for photography, capturing beautiful moments and scenery. Her love for nature, animals, and those closest to her will be remembered always.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation, 55 Williamsburg Lane, Dayton, Ohio 45459.
