
Dolores A. Van Leeuwen, age 79, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Bethany Village, Centerville, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Edward Pleiman, Sr.; son, Ronald Edward; sister, Irene; and brother, Ed Jr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Robert H. “Bob” Van Leeuwen; three sons, Bob (Cam), Gary, and Randy Van Leeuwen; two daughters, Patty (Don) Ward, and Cheryl (Paul) Robinson; nine grandchildren, Kelli Jo, Andrew, Trevor, Haley, Jacob, Luke, Johnny, Julia, and Mia; one great-grandson, Jaxson; sisters, Mary Louise, Helen, Ellen, Sister Grace, Johanna, and Teresa; brothers, Jim, Nick and Jerry.
Dolores moved to Dayton in 1954, where she met her future husband, Bob, on a blind date. They were married on October 1, 1955, and raised six children. Mom dedicated her life to her family. Our mother was a saint on earth, who was loved by everyone she met.
Our family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Village and The Hospice of Dayton for the loving care they provided Dolores.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 S. Smithville Rd. with Father Satish Joseph presiding. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT, 648 Watervliet Ave., Dayton, 45420 and on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
