Donald E. Humphrys

HUMPHRYS, Donald E., of Beavercreek, passed away on November 26, 2017. He was born on Feb. 21, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas to George B. and Zelma (Owens) Humphrys. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bettie “Jane” Humphrys, daughter Kathy (Ken) Million, and sons Ed (Judy) Humphrys, and Ben (Christy) Humphrys, sisters Evelyn (Cliff) Wall, Barbara Humphrys, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Don was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church in Xenia, OH. He was a graduate of Bowie (TX) HS and Texas A&M University. Don was a veteran of the United States Air Force (1951-1953) and retired from WPAFB in 1984. He was an avid tennis player, enjoyed music of many genres, and played several instruments. On summer evenings, he could be seen heading to the garden with a salt shaker in hand in search of a tomato with his name on it. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill Rd., Xenia, Ohio with Pastor Kelley Shin officiating.
