Donald Howard Nooks of Dayton, Ohio passed away on August 19th, 2019 at St. Leonard's Nursing Home. Donald “Donnie” was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 13th, 1950, to Howard B. Nooks and Mary E. Nooks. Donald graduated from Chaminade in1969. He attended Ohio State University and received his degree in English from Wright State University. Donald worked at Monsanto “Mound” for 33 years. He often stated he wasn’t really working. He loved it there. Donald also spent time volunteering at the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association), He was a booster of Chaminade Julienne and made calls to help raise money for the annual Chaminade Julienne fund drives, and loved his class of 69 brothers. He also made contributions to the YWCA. Donald was involved in community and believed in the value of volunteering. He was also a member of Calvary Open Bible Church where he was Sunday School teacher for men. Donald is preceded in death by his parents Howard Nooks, Mary Nooks, brothers Jerry Nooks, James Nooks. He is survived by his two children Nicole Nooks, Arden Blackwell, his sister Yolanda Nooks, and many Nieces, Nephews, and cousins. Donald Nooks was well loved and respected by his family and friends. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at the Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429, with a Celebration of Donald’s Life at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Powell officiating.
