Vanderhorst, Donald L. (Chief Petty Officer U.S. Navy retired), age 80 of West Carrollton, OH passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the VA Hospice in Dayton. He was born in Dayton on October 27, 1935 and is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Donald is survived by his wife, Beverly, children, grandchildren and step children. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends. Donald retired from the United States Navy after 30 years of dedicated service to his country. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Dayton National Cemetery Protestant Chapel, 4100 West Third Street. Inurnment will follow the services in Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Chapel from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service on Friday.
