

GRAVES, Doris Jean, age 93 of Bethany Retirement Community passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015. Doris was born on February 14, 1922 in Dayton to the late Harry and Lyda Louise Oswald Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard S. Graves. She is survived by her daughter, and son-in-law, Linda and Carter Wilson; son, Richard E. Graves; son and daughter in law, Larry and Cristy Graves; daughter, Barbara Graves; grandchildren.- Christine Wilson, Leslie Graves, Melissa Graves, Benjamin and Maryanna Graves, great grandchildren, Nefeli and Demetri. She was a graduate of Stivers High School, class of 1939 and at age 64 went to college to study Horticulture. She was a 30 year volunteer at Cox Arboretum, where she was a former board member of the foundation. She also enjoyed basket weaving, was a gourmet cook, tea connoisseur, an avid herbalist, bridge player, and a longtime supporter of the Montgomery County Medical Society. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, PTA and the Women’s Club of Dayton.
