

HODAPP, Dorsie Christine, Centerville, Ohio formerly of Nancy, KY passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015 at HCR Manor Care Heartland in Centerville. She was 82. She was a daughter of the late Othel "Pete" and Thelma (Garner)Turpen. She graduated from Nancy High School in Nancy, KY. She arrived in Dayton at the age of 18, worked at Elders' department store and later at Ohio Bell Telephone Co. advancing herself to service assistant. During the early 1950’s she also volunteered at Shawen Acres Orphanage and assisted in patient recreation at the Dayton State Hospital. Her life changed when she met Dan Hodapp on a double blind date, and they married March 24, 1955. While raising her children she supported both Girl and Boy Scout activities, Southminster Presbyterian Church youth club, 4-H, and AFS Intercultural Programs. She was a member of TWIGS Children's Medical Center support group for 38 years, Board member of Benham's Grove and committee member for Centerville-Washington Township Historical Society. She was a fund-raiser/volunteer extraordinaire and lived by this philosophy while working on behalf of Dayton area non-profits for decades. She attended Southminster Presbyterian Church. She loved her family, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, friends, flower gardening, sewing, nature and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Daniel E. Hodapp; one son, Thomas (Martha)Hodapp, Dayton, OH, three daughters, Sharon Bostedt (Dan), Franklin, WI, Paula Mayer (Rick),Mequon, WI and Amy Wunderlin (Tom), Baltimore, MD. Six brothers; Glen (Allene) San Antonio, TX, Jesse (RuthAnn), Kettering, OH, Murrell (Sally), Huber Heights, OH, Eugene (Nancy), Somerset, KY, Larry (Phyllis), Somerset, KY, Othel, Jr. (Tracey), Somerset, KY, three sisters, Gladys Bryant, West Chester, OH, Peggy (the late Jack) Lockwood, Somerset, KY and MaryAnn(Ron) Woodson; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Lowell T. Turpen, Curtis P. Turpen and Ervin L. Turpen. Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 10:30AM until time of service at 12noon at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Graveside service 2:30pm at Woodland Cemetery.
