Douglas Edward Sharp

Douglas Edward Sharp, 61, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at 8:20 p.m., surrounded by the love of his family. He experienced no pain in his final moments and left this world with family by his side.

Doug was born on March 1, 1965, to Don and Sue Sharp. He was someone who never lost the childlike joy that made him so special. He loved playing video games, watching television, and going out to eat whenever he had the chance. One of his greatest joys was visiting Disney World, his favorite vacation destination. Last October, he was blessed to make one final trip there with his youngest son and daughter-in-law, fulfilling one of his final wishes and creating cherished memories together.

Doug was a loving husband to his wife, Cathy Sharp, who preceded him in death the previous year. He leaves behind his two sons, Christopher Sharp and Marco Sharp; his stepdaughter, Melody Dawn Crosby; and his beloved granddaughters, Corrine and Addison.

Family meant everything to Doug. He loved them unconditionally and wanted nothing more than to see them happy. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love will remain with them always.

Doug proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge, he dedicated his career to serving fellow veterans through the Veterans Administration. He took great pride in helping those who had served alongside him in spirit, and the friendships he built were a testament to the compassion and respect he showed every day. It was not uncommon for veterans to stop and greet him like an old friend—a reflection of the lasting impact he had on so many lives.

Doug will be remembered for his generous heart, his playful spirit, and the unconditional love he had for his family. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life honoring Doug will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
