

Eby, E. Harold age 96 of Dayton passed away Sunday October 14, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother and step father Pearl and Joseph Helmig, sisters, Dolly (Robert ) Cosler, Vickie (Rudy) Memmel and Mary Ellen Dickman. Survivors include his wife Luella (Saunders) Eby of 64 years; children, Vickie Redrick (Ron), Marilyn Taylor (Ron), Joyce Brun (Philip), Robin Furlong (Bill); six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law John Dickman; dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harold was born February 25, 1916 in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Steele High School and later received a Journeyman Certification. He worked at NCR, Rigg Sheet Metal Co. for 25 yrs and later retired from Foreman Industries. A lifelong member of Shiloh Church, member of the Dayton Lodge #147 F&AM, volunteer with the Kettering Police Dept., Sheet Metal Workers Local #24, VFW Post #2800. He proudly served during WWII with the 809th Army Battalion in Europe and Africa with the Army Corp of Engineers where he received the Bronze Star Medal. Later he received numerous awards while volunteering with Kettering Police Dept. Funeral Service 11:30 am Friday October 19, 2012 at The Shiloh Church 5300 Philadelphia Dr. Dayton, Ohio 45415.
