

Fischer, Edward V., age 82, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dayton, OH on February 8, 1936 to F. Edward and Marie (Wuerstl) Fischer, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Fischer in 1993, a son, William E. Fischer in 2012, and two granddaughters, Lauren Nicole Fischer in 1987 and Kristen Nicole Fischer in 1992. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 59+ years, Marilyn L. (Hilgeford) Fischer; his 5 children, Cindy (Steve) Gibson, Chris Harshbarger, Steve (Cindy) Fischer, Jan (Sean) Friel, Jim (Pam) Fischer; a daughter-in-law, Shelley Fischer; a sister, Pat Heil; 13 grandchildren, Kyle, Kody, Michelle, Benjamin, Kelley, Candice, Karley, Glenn, Erin, William, Shannon, Brooke, Jamie and numerous great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. Eddie was a graduate of Chaminade High , a long time parishioner at St. Helen Catholic Church and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council #500. He was a 30+ year retiree of Delco Moraine and served as a Lt. on the Mad River Township Fire Department. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road, Riverside, OH. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass on Wednesday.
